Built with articulating parts in a revolutionary design Giro's comfort fit technology use a dial to expand or contract the two sides of the helmet to size appropriately. This way the helmet wraps round your head rather than sitting on top for a comfortable, low-profile fit.

One common feature that we see in modern design is the use of MIPS (Multi Impact Protection System) - a thin inner liner that lessens the force of impacts that occur at an angle. We can't say we've been running around the offices of EB HQ crashing into walls at an angle to test it, but the science is proven.

Tested and developed with pro snowboarder Terje Haakonsen, the Grimnir is fabricated from three layers - a carbon polymer shell, EPS liner and MIPS inner. The result is a lightweight and low-volume design that has impressive impact resistance.

The tough outer shell houses the Occigrip sizing system and Coolmax liner which improve the fit and can be adjusted quickly. Easy-hear ear flaps, GoPro and Contour POV camera mounts and a sleek outer are the extra little touches that make it one the best helmets around.

Oakley have expanded their product range into helmets this year, producing a hybrid shell that lives up to their reputation for outstanding quality.

The MODS 5 construction is a mix of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and in-mould plastics which improve strength and impact absorption whilst remaining lightweight. MIPS technology is integrated into the helmet adding further safety to the design.

On the back of the helmet a BOA dial is easily adjustable ensuring a close centred fit and proper protection. At the front a glove friendly chin strap is simple to clip in and out and the helmet brim has vents to let hot air escape from your goggles and avoid condensation.

Comfort, fit, and safety are the three cornerstones of this helmet. Using a two-part hybrid construction the helmet is light yet sturdy. Within the shell sits an X-static performance liner - this is soft against your skin and improves the fit. This liner can be adjusted to your head dimensions and an easy-to-use BOA dial further refines the shape to a degree rarely matched by other designs.

Lightweight and comfortable, the Strata has a hybrid in-mould lower and sidewalls - with a durable hardshell upper and EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) liner. This creates three layers of protection whilst keeping weight to a minimum.

It has an in-form fit system which allows you to adjust the helmet vertically ensuring a low profile and solid fit. Helping to further secure the helmet is a Fidlock magnetic buckle system that effortlessly clicks into place and can be operated with gloves on.

Salomon have built on the success of the 1st generation Ranger adding an EPS 4D layer for more protection and they have also adjusted the shape to lower the profile. The helmet retains it's excellent Airfit system - a small pump that inflates the inner liner till it fits the contours of your head. This liner is made from a wicking material to keep you cool when you’re working hard and is removable/washable.

Sleek and stylish the Pearl 4D is a combination of high-end safety and comfort. It use 4D EPS and in-mould technology to increase impact resistance and save weight. A faux fur lining ensures all-day comfort and a padded chin strap avoids chaffing.

The helmet has a simple dial adjuster on the back for the fit and passive venting throughout to regulate your temperature. If you do get a bit sweaty on the slopes the liner is completely removable and can easily machine washed.

The Nine has plenty of Giro's high-end design elements such as the in-form dial fit, stack anti-fog venting and vertical alignment. Its in-mould construction blends a tough outer shell with an energy absorbing foam lining.

Seamlessly compatible with all Giro goggles it is a great helmet for those continually pushing themselves and are looking for the safety of MIPS with an excellent fit.

Full of feminine flair, the Era is a new-age helmet that has plenty of details you can appreciate. Apart from the sturdy in-mould structure and MIPS technology it has a faux fur lining and intricate stitching on the ear pads.

It uses the same shape and fit system as the rest of the Giro line (Giro states that both sexes' skulls are anatomically identical apart from the size), pulling the helmet down over of the head rather than sitting atop for a really secure fit.
