Charities We Support
We’re extremely proud of the campaigns and charities we support and the work they do. Every day we strive to do as much as we can to help them reach their objectives – join us and help support some of these charities and campaigns.
“You can’t do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth.”- CAC founder John Ellison (22.07.63 – 27.12.15).
Rallying the climbing community across the globe, John Ellison’s goal was to help raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer. John’s legacy continues and funds are raised through the sale of brightly coloured CAC t-shirts, warm and comfy hoodies, cool underwear and climbing holds via Climbersagainstcancer.org.
We’ve worked with DSUK for over 10 years they are the recipient of our plastic bag donations. They believe that taking part in adaptive snowsport has the power to transform a person’s relationship with their disability. They are committed to enabling all disabled people to redefine their relationship with not just the snow, but with all aspects of their lives. We are committed to enabling all people to participate in snowsport, regardless of disability, injury, or experience.
1 in 4 people in Britain experience mental health problems each year. The aim of Mountains For The Mind is to raise awareness about the health benefits of being outdoors. As an outdoor retailer who has equipped the community since 1933, led by a family who loves the outdoors and filled with passionate, driven staff who live and breathe mountain sports we understand how important, restorative and life-affirming time spent in natures playground can be.
The Youth Adventure Trust has been using outdoor adventure to inspire young lives for 25 years. They have helped nearly 4,000 vulnerable young people aged 11-14 by providing more than 27,000 activity days. Covering three school years, it is completely free to the participants with every penny coming from donations, challenges and fund-raising.
Ellis Brigham are proud to be able to support Snow-Camp. The UK’s only charity using skiing, snowboarding and life-skills to work with inner-city young people. We have been involved with Snow-Camp for over 3 years and we feel the fantastic work and the lengths that the charity goes to to offer young people opportunities and to develop their knowledge and skills is unmatched.
The value of unused clothing in wardrobes has been estimated at around £30 billion with an estimated £140 million worth of clothing going into landfill each year**. Our ‘2nd Life’ initiative matches the needs of the homeless with unused clothing and aims to help protect homeless people from the elements whilst reducing the environmental impact of sending clothes to landfill.
