Introducing GORE TEX C Knit

Introducing GORE C-Knit Backer Technology: the latest addition to their arsenal of wet weather protection.

Whereas other versions of 3-layer GORE-TEX systems have featured a hanging mesh material, C-Knit is a smooth, super-light and highly breathable layer made from an extremely fine nylon yarn, using a revolutionary circular knit technique on a microscopic scale.

This patent-pending technology forms a layer that is designed to prevent contaminants such as skin oils, sweat and dirt reaching the membrane, meaning it is up to 15% more breathable than existing 3-layer GORE-TEX.

The laminate backs directly on to the inside of the GORE-TEX membrane itself, protecting the membrane from wear and tear, therefore increasing the life span of your gear and ultimately reducing its environmental impact.

The smooth finish and slight stretch to this ground-breaking fabric gives garments a noticeably more supple feel when compared to those featuring Active or Pro Shell, making it highly versatile, very comfortable and perfect for hill walking and freeride snowsports clothing.

The first products featuring GORE C-Knit can be found in our 15/16 Winter range from Arc'teryx and Mammut.
