DMM Recall Notice

Climbing hardware manufacturers DMM have released an urgent product recall subject to user inspection on specific carabiner products with immediate effect.

The recall affects certain batches of 25 models of carabiner, of which Ellis Brigham stock two - The Aero HMS and the Big Boa HMS carabiners.

The batches can be identified by the serial number running down the side of the device.

Full details of how to inspect and identify a potentially faulty device can be found in this document.

The original safety warning released on 11th September 2015 can be found here.

DMM have issued the recall after it was found that a small percentage of the carabiners developed a fault within the spring locking mechanism, potentially preventing the gate from locking completely.

DMM will be issuing further instructions on how to return defective models before the end of the week and we will post any updates here.
