Trail Fit Sessions with Laura Kennington
We’ve teamed up with Personal Trainer and Ellis Brigham ambassador Laura Kennington to create a series of 4 short workouts to give you tips and specific exercises that will help improve your outdoor fitness performance.
Laura is a British adventure athlete with a passion for the endurance capability of the human body. A strong believer in the positive impact that adventure and sport can have on children and adults alike, Laura uses her human powered journeys as a platform to inspire and encourage others to get outside.
So whether you’re a walker or runner, these exercise sessions are focused on building both leg and core strength and conditioning to prepare for the spring trails.
There will be a new episode released every Sunday starting on Sunday 10th January at 8am UK time.
Episode 1: Pre Run / Hike warm up
Sunday 10th January at 8am
Warm muscles perform more efficiently, so this session focuses on activating your legs to avoid those grumpy calf muscles!
Episode 2: Living Room Workout
Sunday 17th January at 8am
No equipment needed for this session as Laura takes us through a warm up plus a 20 minute workout. Laura performs each exercise to ensure it’s done correctly, maximising the benefits of every movement. She performs 10-14 exercises and recommends 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds of rest and 2 sets of each exercise.
Episode 3: Kettlebells
Sunday 24th January at 8am
A great workout for all-round body strength! After a warm up Laura presents a 20 minute kettlebell workout. She performs 8 kettlebell exercises and recommends 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds of rest and 2 sets of each exercise.
Episode 4: Outdoor Workout
Sunday 31st January at 8am
No equipment needed (other than a park bench) for this 20 minute session of 10 reps of these 8 exercises.
