The UK is home to some fantastic paddle board locations. Thanks to our wonderful network of waterways, you're never too far from a river, canal or lake to explore by SUP.
To help get your next adventure started, we've put together five of our favourite locations to SUP from across the UK.
River Quaich To Loch Freuchie, Perthshire

The lochs and rivers of Scotland offer paddleboarders the chance to get remote and SUP through some outstanding scenery. The River Quaich is a beautiful small river that meanders back and forth with slow-moving water. Coupled with excellent views, you get a real sense of exploration. The river ultimately feeds into Loch Freuchie, so linking the two together can make for a great day out. The loch is located around two miles from the small hamlet of Amulree and is surrounded by hills, green fields and woodlands. At 2.8km length and 0.8 km, the remote loch is the perfect size for circumnavigating.
River Cuckmere, East Sussex

The River Cuckmere in East Sussex is the perfect adventure for those new to the sport, or anyone looking for a chilled out paddle. The gentle waters meander through the South Downs, and can be paddled from source to sea. The river flows from Heathfield to the English Channel at Cuckmere Haven, with the mouth of the river bringing you next to the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs, providing spectacular views for the end of your route. The river is a special nature reserve and site of special scientific interest, so keep your eyes peeled and you'll be sure to spot plenty of wildlife.
Wast Water, Cumbria

The Lake District presents a number of excellent choices for paddle boarding, but in the summer months especially, the most popular options quickly become quite busy. Wast Water in Wasdale is an excellent choice for those looking for something a little more remote. Surrounded by some of Englands highest peaks, the lake has some of the best surrounding scenery you'll find in the UK. At 4.8 km in length and 500 metres wide, there's plenty to explore.
Llyn Padarn, Snowdonia

Llyn Padarn is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. The lake is located near the foot of Snowdon, with its southern edge running alongside the village of Llanberis. Surrounded by mountains and woodland, you can expect some of the best scenery in Wales. At two miles in length, it's the perfect size to circumnavigate in a day.
Helford River, Cornwall

You'll struggle to find a river with more quintessential English scenery than Helford. The river has the perfect shoreline for exploration being scattered with hidden coves, secluded beaches and more. Being packed full of scenic thatched cottages and boathouse, Helford village itself is a great starting point. The tree-lined water is home to a range of wildlife, and you can expect to see plenty of wading birds such as oyster catchers and herons. Ultimately ending at the beautiful coastline of Falmouth Bay, the River Helford makes for an excellent SUP destination.
