Taking up a challenge is easier than you think. Grab some mates or work colleagues, get training and make 2013 a standout year by challenging yourself to do something a little out of the ordinary. You’ll get some fantastic memories and could raise money for a good cause in the process. We’ve teamed up with Action Challenge to highlight five of the best and most popular challenges that people like you are getting involved in this year. >Kilimanjaro Challenge - Multiple Dates 2013/14
Climbing Kilimanjaro is more than just a mountain challenge. It is the ultimate once-in-a-lifetime experience. You will get an insight into the lives and culture of the local community, whilst being immersed in some of the most breathtaking scenery in Africa. Our 'all-inclusive' challenges include flights, transfers, accommodation, meals and National Park fees, with a UK Mountain Leader, UK Doctor and highly experienced local expedition team to get you to the summit safely. We have charity fundraising options, and offer pre-trip support and even a kit rental service to keep your costs down.
Great Wall of China Challenge – Multiple Dates 2013/14
The Great Wall of China is one of the great wonders of the world, stretching 4,500 miles, from the Gobi Desert to the mountains of Korea. The trek is one of the world’s classics, offering stunning scenery, challenging walking and a fascinating insight into an ancient culture. This fully-supported and all-inclusive ten-day adventure includes 5 days trekking, starting and finishing in the capital city of Beijing.
Thames Path Challenge - 14–15 September 2013
The Thames Path National Trail is unique with its beautiful scenery and is steeped in history. The trail serves as a superb backdrop for a simply exceptional challenge, and in September 2013, you can take it on as a walk or run, in aid of a charity of your choice.
100 km – Putney to Henley. A tough 24 hour Endurance Walk or Ultra-Marathon run!
50 km – A few options to suit all! Two daytime walks or runs, plus an overnight walk.
UK Ride 24 Newcastle - London – 24–25 August 2013
300 miles in 24 hours - stretching across the country from North to South - is the ultimate cycling challenge. A true test of stamina; through the day and night. Long stretches of flat tarmac on the eastern side of the country, fully supported all the way, food and drink en route and a celebration at the end. This is not a race – it’s a 24 hour endurance challenge worthy of a Gold Medal!
Moonriders London 2 Brighton – 12 – 13 July 2013
From capital to coast - don’t just ride it. Night ride it! Experience the renowned route in the magnificence of a moonlit night, decorated by your fellow florescent riders. Enjoy the group camaraderie, cycling in company, and the space on the roads as you go at your own pace. You'll conquer the infamous hill of Ditchling Beacon, climbing to one of the highest points on the South Downs. As you pedal closer to the finish line, the sun will begin to rise, and you'll be welcomed in by friends and supporters. Celebrate with a special rider breakfast, rounding off a summer's Moonride you won't forget!
