Luke Smith

Luke Smith was born with a talipes equinovarus (club foot), he was previously a professional Thai boxer, competing at a very high level all over the world. He got into climbing in 2018 and instantly became hooked on the sport and made some great friends from this. He then found out about Paraclimbing and decided to pursue competitive climbing, as well as climbing outdoors.

Luke has been the RP3 Paraclimbing British champion for the last few years now and has managed to achieve his first final in the Innsbruck World Cup 2023 finishing 4th and competed in the World Championships in Bern 2023 finishing 5th, he will be looking to better this and podium in future international competitions.

Climbing outdoors is also a big interest of Luke’s, whether it's sport climbing, multipitch/ trad climbing, bouldering, scrambling and even ice climbing. He spends most of his time in North Wales frequently on adventures having recently climbed the classic route ‘Grooved Arete’ on the East Face of Tryfan. He has his sights set on climbing a Ben Moon classic ‘Statement of Youth’ 8a soon and also climbing his way up the grades in bouldering.
