With a super stable 101mm waist, tip and tail rocker plus a super poppy aspen veneer core, the Chronic 101s are for the freestyler who loves to explore the whole mountain and are happy jibbing in the off-piste just as much as in the park or ripping down the piste. Thin Tips aid jibbing manoeuvrability and rounding off the ski are Thick-Cut Sidewalls that provide the bomb proof construction you need when regularly hitting features.
Terrain Type & Ability Level
Terrain Type
Designed for park skiers, but with all-mountain capabilities too. Just as at home ripping up the piste as they are playing in soft snow and on kickers or rails.
Skier Type
Advanced and expert skiers wanting a freestyle ski that to ride anywhere. In reality, ability is less of factor, it’s more about mindset and wanting the looser feel of a freestyle ski to use everyday on the slopes, in the park or backcountry.
Overview
Shape
With a 101mm waist, you can take the park focused Chronic 101 anywhere and it'll be just fine. A generous waist means tons stability for stomping tricks, cruising around chopped up pistes and decent float for riding in deeper snow. Tiip and tail rocker further aids floation and mellows out the handling on harder conditions too.
Rocker
Early Rise at the tip and tail lift them away from the snow to bring the contact points closer to the centre of the ski. This increases the ski's lift in deep snow and allows it to engage more quickly on hardpack when rolled over on edge.
Core
An Aspen Veneer Core uses aspen stringers to create a lightweight, snappy and engaged feel.
Construction
Thick-Cut Sidewalls for grip on hard snow plus added edge strength and durability when hitting features in the park
Key Features
Bio-Resin
Bio-Resins are made from more sustainable sources and have less envorimental impact than traditional resins used in ski manufacturing. Not only that, they also have an increased bonding within the core for improved durabilty and performance.
Thin Tip
A thin core & sidewall in the tips are 100 grams lighter per pair for reduced swing weight for improved manoeuvrability & reduced tip bounce for better snow contact and handling.
Symmetric Flex
The same flex pattern in front and behind your boot conforms to terrain equally riding forward and backwards.
EB tester’s comments: Alex (Milton Keynes) Super rad, all-mountain fun with one of the best graphics out there. Will suit skiers coming from a freestyle background looking for an all-mountain jib ski, hitting park, wind lips, powder kickers and slaying the slush at the end of a season.
