The K2 Reckoner 92 W is an all-terrain twin for skiers who want to go everywhere and don’t care about the rules. Ski the groomers, shred the trees, hit some jumps, it doesn’t matter – just have fun. 92mm underfoot with a medium radius and tip and tail rocker ensures that it is comfortable in any condition. An aspen woodcore provides strength and longevity without adding excess weight; Hybritech sidewalls deliver precision and increase durability.
Terrain Type & Ability Level
Terrain Type
Everywhere. Great for spending time in the park, as well as exploring all-mountain too, especially fun for searching out side hits and messing about off the edges of pistes, it even has enough width and a good shape for when there’s some fresh snow about.
Skier Type
A skier who spends time anywhere on the hill. They could be lapping the park one day or finding lines through the trees the next. They prefer a slightly wider ski for added stability in the park or through cruddy conditions and extra float in soft snow.
Overview
Shape
92mm underfoot is quick enough and responsive whether on rails and boxes, kickers or just skiing around. The 14.6m (159cm) radius mixes stability with easy turning in a variety of shapes and is ideal for freestyle or all mountain use. Taper at the tip and tail is nice and mellow, helping with handling in softer and trickier snow, as well as when pressing and butters.
Rocker
All-Terrain Twin Rocker is a gradual, extended rise at the tip and tail for added versatility and control in all conditions with twin tip skis. Camber underfoot ensures good grip things are firmer.
Core
Aspen is lightweight and resilient, a great all-round material for a freestyle ski.
Construction
Hybritech blends a sidewall construction underfoot with a cap construction in the extremities. The sidewall section gives the ski accuracy, power and edge grip; the capped region reduces the swing weight and increases overall durability.
Key Features
Trixial Braiding
A K2-patented process the interlocks strands of fibreglass around a milled core for pronounced torsional stiffness, while retaining the lively flex patterns inherent in a wood ski.
EB tester’s comments: Victoria (Braehead) The perfect balance between speed and float, with its surprising quick edge-to-edge feel I thought they unexpectedly coped really well on groomed runs. The poplar wood core made the ski feel lively and I could feel the carbon reinforcement that added extra pop for a fun and playful feel!
