Andy Cave - A Life on The Edge
Join us for an evening with Andy Cave and for an exclusive London screening of award winning film ‘Distilled’ at the Royal Geographical Society on Friday 9th March 2014.
Nominated for the Piolet D'Or for his team’s courageous first ascent of one of the steepest and most difficult alpine routes in the world - the north face of Changabang.
A born raconteur, Andy will share his story, from miner to pioneering mountaineer, including his very latest adventures.
Followed by the first London screening of the Award Winning Film 'Distilled', introduced by the filmmakers Hot Aches. Cave's fascinating story of a life in the mountains is combined with dramatic footage of Andy climbing some of Scotland's classic and most challenging winter routes.
The film journeys through the dramatic landscape of Scottish mountains in winter, reminding us how pristine and wild they really are.
Distilled; like a good single malt drunk by the fireside, leaves the viewer with a warm glow inside. The audience will be invited to a Q&A session following the film.
The evening promises to be an exciting and interactive event with a raffle to win an exclusive half day session climbing in the Peak District with mountaineer Andy Cave, novice or experts welcome! You'll learn some tricks and techniques from a Pro on the beautiful gritstone edges of Derbyshire (equipment can be supplied if necessary). Glenfiddich are hosting a Whisky Tasting of their 15 year old Malt on the evening and Lowe Alpine and Jagged Globe will have some fantastic prizes up for grabs in the raffle
Winner of six literary prizes, Author Andy Cave will be signing his books at the event.
The event will start at 7pm with the bar open from 6:30pm onwards.
