Introducing the all-new Blizzard Black Pearl 88, a familiar name with a complete redesign for the 24.25 season, available exclusively for early release at Ellis Brigham. While it shares its name with its predecessors, this ski has undergone a total transformation. The new model stands out with its Fluxform construction, featuring a unique Titinal layer that significantly enhances performance and grip. The Black Pearl 88 truly shines in variable terrain thanks to the All Conditions Rocker Tech and a women’s specific True Blend core that strategically places stiffness and softness in the right areas, ensuring exceptional performance in softer conditions as well as punchy handling on groomed runs too. Whether you’re carving on hardpack, exploring through untouched snow at the edges of the piste or powering through mixed conditions, the Black Pearl 88 handles it all with remarkable ease so you have total confidence for all the mountain has to offer.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
A versatile all-rounder, designed to perform in a variety of conditions. It remains agile on groomed runs, yet stable enough for variable conditions. Its width and rocker profile ensure ample float for venturing off the beaten track, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy exploring all that the mountain has to offer.

Skier Type
A slightly wider construction is perfect for proficient skiers who enjoy groomed runs but also venture off-piste. It offers stability and versatility, excelling in medium to longer, open turns. While slightly wider, it maintains an easy-to-manoeuvre shape for trickier conditions. This makes it a great choice for those seeking a balance between on-piste performance and off-piste adaptability.

Overview

Shape
With the 88mm waist and 14m radius (164cm), they remain agile on hardpack while providing stability in variable conditions and sufficient float for off-piste adventures. Its updated rocker profile introduces an energetic camber for a lively feel and improved grip. Meanwhile, the deeply set rocker smooths the ride and enhances handling in soft snow.

Rocker
All Conditions Rocker - updated for 24/25 models, they feature an enhanced rocker profile for easy turn initiation and versatility, with shorter contact lengths due to deeper rocker lines, but increased camber height for more energetic turns.

Core
Blizzard’s Anomaly skis employ a Trueblend wood core of poplar and beech for optimal stiffness and swing weight along its length, enhanced by a Titinal laminate layer for performance and dampening. Each size features a unique design for optimal performance.

Construction
Full sidewall produces direct and strong power transmission for the best control.

Key Features

Fluxform construction
Blizzard’s women-specific Fluxform construction incorporates a single layer of Titinal, positioned above the core. This layer is divided into two parts: an outer section closer to the ski’s edges beneath the topsheet, and a central beam aligned with the ski’s core. Below the core, there’s a layer of carbon fiber-reinforced fiberglass, enhancing performance without the weight of a metal laminate. This design results in a ski that balances power and dampness, providing a robust yet forgiving freeride feel.
