New to the Blizzard line-up for the 24.25 season, the Anomaly 84 is exclusively available for early release at Ellis Brigham. This 84mm model, the narrowest in the range, offers a nimble ride and is particularly well-suited to hard snow skiers, compared to its 88mm counterpart. The Anomaly 84 retains the Trueflex Titinal construction found across the range, providing a locked-in edge hold that makes carving on piste a dream. Its slightly narrower design ensures a happy transition from edge to edge while carving down groomed trails, but being equipped with All Conditions Rocker Tech also means the Anomaly 84 effortlessly engages into turns and releases out. They float well through cruddy or chopped-up snow, making it a great choice for those who like to venture off to the sides or through the trees. In essence, the Anomaly 84 is the perfect choice for skiers who love to spend time on piste but also enjoy a run or two away from the corduroy.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
A nimble performer on hardpack yet offering stability at the same time. It’s less about off-piste skiing and more about carving up the groomers and handling mixed conditions with ease. The rocker profile and camber height are designed to offer a balance of power and playfulness, making it a great choice for those who primarily ski on groomed runs but occasionally venture into more challenging conditions.

Skier Type
Ideal for proficient skiers who prefer groomed runs, value stability and versatility over specialized piste models, and enjoy executing longer, open turns rather than quick, tight carves, yet still want an easy-to-manoeuvre shape when needed and conditions get trickier.

Overview

Shape
At 84mm under foot and offering a slightly shoreter sidecut radius than the 88mm versions, they give a more nimble feel on hardpack and excel in providing increased stability on variable terrain, especially when compared to narrower piste skis. The updated rocker profile incorporates an energetic camber for a lively feel and enhanced grip, but generous amounts of rocker make them a versatile choice for those who primarily ski on groomed runs but occasionally venture into more challenging conditions.

Rocker
All Conditions Rocker - updated for 24/25 models, they feature an enhanced rocker profile for easy turn initiation and versatility, with shorter contact lengths due to deeper rocker lines, but increased camber height for more energetic turns.

Core
Blizzard’s Anomaly skis employ a Trueblend wood core of poplar and beech for optimal stiffness and swing weight along its length, enhanced by two Titinal laminate layers for performance and dampening. Each size features a unique design for optimal performance.

Construction
Full sidewall produces direct and strong power transmission for the best control.

Key Features

Fluxform construction
Blizzard’s Fluxform construction incorporates two full layers of Titinal. The first layer, positioned below the core, spans the full length and width of the ski. The second layer, located above the core, is divided into two parts: an outer section that sits closer to the ski’s edges just beneath the topsheet, and a central beam that is nearer the heart of the ski’s Trueblend core. This design results in a ski that balances power and dampness, providing a high end yet forgiving freeride feel.
