Armada Locator 96 is an all-terrain ski that expertly walks the fine line of lightweight and performance, equally capable of fast, smooth turns in fresh pow as it is biting hard snow and jumping turns down tight couloirs. The caruba wood core has the uphill feel that you demand and the power needed for descending when the conditions are trickier. AR75 Sidewall enhances this with sidewall underfoot for grip and precision, and cap at the tip and tail to save weight. Tip taper and nose rocker combine for easy control whatever the snow and positive camber through the middle and flat tail ensure edge hold and clean turns.
Terrain Type & Ability Level
The 96 will tackle anything the mountain has to offer, that's the beauty of a 96mm waist and a high-quality approach to materials. This could be billy-goating down no fall zones or long tours to find the epic descents of GS turns on untouched powder. It'll even happily cruise the groomers, but it's the variety of skiing off piste that it is built for.

Skiers who want to experience everything on the mountain and who are going to tour to reach the best descents. Whilst it is advanced and expert skiers who will get the benefits of the shape and construction, good intermediates that want edge grip will enjoy the ski too.

Shape
96mm in the waist is an ideal size for an all-condition BC ski, wide enough to float when it's deeper, not so big that might add extra weight. A radius of 21m in the 178cm boosts the stability required to ski any terrain. Lots of tip taper works with the nose rocker for easy handling; the flatter, longer tail improves the edge grip.
Rocker
EST Freeride Rocker. Forebody rocker and extra tip taper combine for optimized float in the soft stuff. Positive camber under foot with no tail rocker ensures edge hold so skis stay on rails when carving is the priority.
Core
Caruba core. Armada's lightest wood core material creates the best uphill feel while retaining the power and damping characteristics required for descending the gnarliest terrain. This core makes no performance concessions in its quest to be ultra-light.
Construction
AR75 Sidewall. Sidewall on 75% of the ski to allow for weight savings on tip and tail while maintaining rigidity and drive in the prime zone. Below the binding, a sandwich of rubber and Titanal works to reduce vibration that otherwise chatters into your boots and shortens your day. A carbon reinforcement is used to provide excellent energy rebound.
