Ellis Brigham workshop technicians have decades of servicing experience between them and are passionate about achieving the best servicing standards. Our technicians are all keen skiers and snowboarders who understand the difference a good service can make to a day out on the mountain.

When summer comes round we don't pull out sun loungers and relax. The techs continue to work hard improving their skills and knowledge as well as updating equipment.

TECHNICIANS

  • The Mighty John Taylor

    Workshop Technician

Store: HEAD OFFICE - SERVICING TECHNICIAN

John began snowboarding back in the late 90's with a trip to the local dry slope with friends. After a year of practising on the dry, the call of the real mountains was too much. Several trips to Scotland, France, Switzerland, and Austria permanently made their mark on John's ongoing obsession with the mountains, before he made the leap into doing seasons away working as a lift operator for Vail Resorts at Breckenridge, Colorado.

John has also worked as a workshop technician at an indoor snow slope dealing with the daily trials of hire equipment in need of repair, so you can be sure he has seen and dealt with every injury to snowsports equipment imaginable!

  • Dave Lowell

    Workshop Technician

    Store: AVIEMORE - TECHNICIAN

Training in ski tuning in Scotland can be a steep curve. Skis can have a hard life away from the deep snow of the Alps, and take a battering from the often rather agricultural conditions you come across in the Highlands, so Dave is well versed and practised in the art of ski and snowboard repairs.

Educated at Gray’s School of Art he approaches all repairs with meticulous attention to detail and a strong set of practical skills. Dave keeps a fleet of hire skis in the best of shape, P-Texing holes and keeping the edges tuned so they can handle the hard-pack as easy as they are in and out of turns. With 4 years' experience tuning customers skis in the busiest workshop in Aviemore, Dave meets all binding mounts, special orders or difficult repairs with a positive mental attitude and confidence!

"Regular Specific training in the Ski Department gives the EB ski techs the knowledge needed, and the ability to speak with ski brands or other workshops never leaves us stuck.'

Granite in the Cairngorms always wins - leaving us with plenty practice in ski base repair and all the tuning needed to keep your skis fast. I deal with all sorts of different requirements from a huge range of customers, from team riders and skiers, to instructors, to customers at the top of the sport, to folk just starting out. People travel from all over Scotland to our workshop and can all have specific inquires. Matched with a great range of ski equipment in-store, we can get customers enjoying well suited set-ups.'

"It's great hearing about the story behind the scratches, and seeing the customer's surprise when they pick up a ski looking as good as new!"
