The K2 Disruption SC W delivers top performance skiing on groomed snow, without being punishing to use. Its 74mm waist makes switching from edge to edge efficient and snappy. The Aspen core and Carbon I Beam provide durability and increased precision and energy along the full length of the ski for better control on pistes at any speed. Dark Matter Dampening ensures a smooth ride, aiding the Powerwall construction to deliver excellent edge hold. Best of all, this technology negates the need for a metal layer to get grip, meaning the ski can retain a nimble, accurate feel without being heavy or stiff.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
Pistes all day long, from the first lift to the last. Unlike many high-end skis it isn’t demanding to ski, because there’s no metal in here, so you can be on top of your game all day long

Skier Type
A confident Intermediate and advanced piste skier seeking precision and energy with a touch of forgiveness, they enjoy mixing up turn shapes and speeds. Ideally suited to piste enthusiasts who love carving on groomed snow and offers race-style handling without being energy sapping or hard-work, making it suitable for those who don't need full-on performance but still want a lively racey style ride.

Overview

Shape
Long contact length with the widest points very close to the tip and tail, this gives the ski the best grip all the way through the turn and precise initiation (the Speed Rocker ensures the tip isn't grabby). 74mm in the waist provides quick edge changes; the 12.6m (160cm) radius ensures tight carves and fast response, but the ski is very capable of bigger turns unlike some other short turn specialists.

Rocker
Speed Rocker uses a short and low rise in the tip for quick turn initiation and precise steering, the camber ensures grip and response. The result is maximum stability on firm snow.

Core
Aspen Veneer. A single wood species ensures consistency - giving riders the advantage of a proven flex, durability, and liveliness.

Construction
Powerwall construction ensures that power transfer is dramatically enhanced with the oversized ABS sidewalls that are laminated and pocketed within the wood core in the midbody of the ski. With the sidewall extending into the heart of the ski, the transmission of energy from skier to ski edge is direct and precise.

Key Features

Dark Matter Damping (DMD)
DMD is an offset polymeric damper consisting of a rubber foil below a layer of high modulus carbon fibre. This is strategically placed over the edges at the fore and aft contact points. The interaction of the different materials absorbs high frequency variations than Titanal does not, quietening the edge and improving ski to snow contact. The result is stronger, more progressive edge grip, increased precision and accuracy, as well as heightened edge feel and control.

Carbon I Beam
Full length uni-directional carbon running from tip to tail, providing increased accuracy and energy along the entire length of the ski.

EB tester’s comments: Sally (Milton Keynes) Conditions were pretty firm, yet they held the edge really well throughout. They encourage you to go fast and push yourself but not in a scary way. The perfect choice for those who live to hack around on the pistes and get the most out of a day’s skiing.
