The QST 106 is the reference freeride ski, completely at home whatever the conditions or terrain. Effortless in fresh snow, stable when it gets heavy or choppy, manoeuvrable when things are tight, and it even shines on groomed trails with flowing turns. Taper in the tip and tail bring the widest parts closer to the centre for more playful turn shapes, the longer rocker compliments this for better handling in deeper conditions. A C/FX Carbon backbone and double sidewalls provide power and strong edge hold; cork inserts at the tip and tail reduce chatter for a smooth, playful ride. it’s the ultimate all round ski for anyone who is looking for 100mm+ in the waist and no compromises.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
They love to ski in the deep snow, whether it's in the trees, on steep slopes, or in powder bowls; they have a ton of float. But more than just powder skis, they are also capable on hard snow, able to create smooth, arcing carves on corduroy at speed as well.

Skier Type
This skier goes everywhere and in any conditions, from the deepest powder to spring slush and firm groomers. They're always looking for the best lines and need a ski that matches their adventurous spirit.

Overview

Shape
It is 106mm under foot with plenty of rocker both tip and tail tells you this ski is going to be good in soft snow. Having set back contact points and a bit of camber at the waist means it playful and manoeuvrable on firm snow too.

Rocker
Twin Rocker uses plenty of rocker at the nose and tail, more than you might expect for a 98mm directional ski. This is more than the QST 99 that it replaces and helps give the ski the playful part of its personality.

Core
The Full Poplar Woodcore maximises liveliness, stability and ski-to-snow contact while filtering vibrations. A central strip of flax and carbon (C/FX) assits with the resposiveness and energy whilst keeping it smoother than if just carbon was used.

Construction
Full Sandwich Sidewalls provide excellent control along the skis full length. An extra layer of injected ABS above this, through the centre section of the ski, improves edge grip. Smoothness is emphasised with the use of Carbon Powered C/FX and Cork Damplifier; an edge-to-edge Titanal plate is used underfoot for maximal power and increased precision on hard snow.

Key Features

C/FX
Carbon and Flax woven together. It combines the strength, stability, minimal weight of carbon with the increased level of dampening of the flax.

Cork Damplifier
Cork is three times more absorbing than Koroyd. Using it in the tip of the ski enables a high level of vibration absorption and dampening with even less weight.

Double Sidewall Technology
High density injected piece of ABS underfoot combined with full length sidewalls which allows a strong platform underfoot to maximize the grip on hard snow.

EB tester’s comments: Zak (Manchester) The Qst 106 is a versatile ski that handles icy and powdery conditions with ease. It feels slightly softer and less chargey than its bigger brother, The Blank. With set back contact points, it offers great maneuverability and feels surprisingly light on the feet. A great all mountain blaster.
