Overview

Ortovox made the Haute Route 40 backpack for longer ski touring excursions. Its 40-litre capacity ensures room for layers, safety kit, food, and water. The comfortable O-Flex-2 back system includes load control straps, an S-shaped stabiliser, and wrap-around hip fins. A central foam cutout saves weight and improves ventilation.

Back panel entry

Top and rear zip access to the main compartment lets you get to your gear without needing to remove items off the front of the pack.

Avalanche tool compartment

The front compartment offers quick access to your avalanche safety kit. There are sleeves for your shovel handle and probe to keep items organised.

A-frame ski carry

Use the side compression straps to carry your skis in an A-frame configuration.

Diagonal ski carry

Carry skis in a diagonal position on the front, using the stowable straps on the top left and bottom right of the pack.

Vertical snowboard carry

You can adjust the side compression straps to run across the front of the pack, providing a secure snowboard or snowshoe attachment in a vertical carry position.

Integrated helmet net

Stowing into a zipped pocket at the base, you can connect the net to the front of the pack for quick-access helmet storage.
