The Alpine Pass Route crosses Switzerland from east to west from Sargans to Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva. Passing through the quieter Alps in the east to the Bernese Oberland, it covers some 325km of mountain and valley and crossed 16 passes with almost 18,000m of height gain in fifteen stages.
