Introducing the Blizzard Anomaly 88, a brand-new model for the 24.25 season that we’ve managed to secure exclusively for early release at Ellis Brigham. This ski is set to take the place of the much-loved Brahma 88, but it’s not just a simple replacement. The Anomaly 88 is designed with more focus towards hard snow conditions, excelling on hard-packed and groomed runs, thanks to its Fluxform and TrueBlend constructions and a clever use of Titinal laminates. But its capabilities extend beyond packed snow, the All Conditions Rocker Tech construction ensures these skis perform exceptionally well in softer conditions too. Whether you’re exploring the untouched snow at the edges of the piste or powering through mixed conditions. So, whether your day involves carving precise turns on groomed runs or venturing off-piste, the Blizzard Anomaly 88 is ready to tackle a wide range of snow conditions, offering you the freedom to ski wherever and whenever you choose.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
A versatile all-rounder, designed to perform in a variety of conditions. It remains agile on groomed runs, yet stable enough for variable conditions. Its width and rocker profile ensure ample float for venturing off the beaten track, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy exploring all that the mountain has to offer.

Skier Type
A slightly wider construction is perfect for proficient skiers who enjoy groomed runs but also venture off-piste. It offers stability and versatility, excelling in medium to longer, open turns. While slightly wider, it maintains an easy-to-manoeuvre shape for trickier conditions. This makes it a great choice for those seeking a balance between on-piste performance and off-piste adaptability.

Overview

Shape
With the 88mm waist and 16.5m radius (176cm), they remain agile on hardpack while providing stability in variable conditions and sufficient float for off-piste adventures. Its updated rocker profile introduces an energetic camber for a lively feel and improved grip. Meanwhile, the deeply set rocker smooths the ride and enhances handling in soft snow.

Rocker
All Conditions Rocker - updated for 24/25 models, they feature an enhanced rocker profile for easy turn initiation and versatility, with shorter contact lengths due to deeper rocker lines, but increased camber height for more energetic turns.

Core
Blizzard’s Anomaly skis employ a Trueblend wood core of softer and lighter poplar and stiffer beech for optimal stiffness and swing weight along its length, enhanced by two Titinal laminate layers for performance and dampening. Each size features a unique design for optimal performance.

Construction
Full sidewall produces direct and strong power transmission for the best control.

Key Features

Fluxform construction
Blizzard’s Fluxform construction incorporates two full layers of Titinal. The first layer, positioned below the core, spans the full length and width of the ski. The second layer, located above the core, is divided into two parts: an outer section that sits closer to the ski’s edges just beneath the topsheet, and a central beam that is nearer the heart of the ski’s Trueblend core. This design results in a ski that balances power and dampness, providing a high end yet forgiving freeride feel.
