Terrain Type
Blue and red pistes, always on marked trails. It will carve cleanly as well as slip and skid if required. The Cloud 9 is easy to control and does whatever the skier asks.
Skier Type
Intermediates and less aggressive advanced skiers who like the thrill of skiing fast and precisely but don't want to deal with the more powerful, stiffer skis. Technique may already be pretty good and the Cloud 9 will help hone it without punishing little mistakes.
Overview
Shape
It's a traditional piste carving shape, designed to turn and turn. The waist has slimmed down in it's new reshape to 72mm from 73mm, so that it is slightly quicker from edge to edge yet still broad enough for stability. It still keeps the narrower tip and tail introduced a couple of seasons ago, compared to models of old, making it easier to dictate the turn and control the start and end phases.
Rocker
Active Camber means no rocker at the tip or tail, this increases the effective edge contact for better grip on icy slopes and improved stability.
Core
Atomic's Light Woodcore utilises a combination of lightweight poplar wood and Densolite composite foam to optimise ski weight while maintaining excellent stability and forgiving handling.
Construction
Dura Cap Sidewall uses a sidewall from base to top sheet for controlled power transmission and great edge grip. The rounded shape of the Dura Cap is a fantastic durability feature as it picks up fewer dents and dings.
