Overview

The North Face built the Phantom 38 backpack for climbing and ski mountaineering. A streamlined model with a 38-litre capacity, it will hold your alpine essentials in style. Made from semi-translucent fabric, you can see the contents more easily from the outside of the pack to aid in gear retrieval.

Features

Snow-shedding back panel

The snow-shedding back panel fabric helps stop snow from clumping and then freezing or melting when the pack's against your back.

Hip belt organisation

The padded hip belt features a zipped pocket on one side and a gear loop on the other, so you can keep carabiners and small essentials within easy reach.

Internal rope carry

Use the adjustable centre strap to compress the load at the top of the pack or to keep your climbing rope stable and secure.

Internally routed compression

Internally routed compression straps help stabilise the load and reduce bulk while minimising snag points.

Ice axe attachment

Keep your ice tools secure using the lower compression straps and upper bungee loops. You can tuck the picks into the centre panel to avoid snagging.

Ski/splitboard carry

You can use the side compression straps to carry your skis or splitboard in an A-frame configuration.
