The Marker Kingpin 13 rewrote the rules when it came to bindings, blurring the lines between tradtional alpine bindings and lightweight tour bindings. This season it uses the same legendary features that has made it one of the best hybrid bindings on the market, but adds a slight update to the toe. This year Marker have introduced an integrated stop in the toe that makes boot-binding location much easier when stepping in. It still uses the alpine heel for the best performance, response and added saftey on the way down and a pin toe for weight saving and maximum efficiency on the way up. They still remain one of the best choices for adventurous skiers who need a binding that works well on the ascent to then ski hard on the way back down.

Overview

Binding Type
Backcountry PinCert

Boot Compatibility
PinCert. Boot must have pin inserts at the toe and need to meet boot ISO Norms for Alpine (ISO 5355), GripWalk (ISO 23223 ) or Tour (ISO 9523) for the heel to function.

Skier Type
Freerider, Backcountry, Tourers. Skiers who want to be able to rip on the descents and need a binding that they can trust to retain the boot but release when it is necessary. They also want to keep things as light as possible when ascending. Long climbs are a part of the experience.

Key Features

SKIING, XXL Power Transmitter
Extra large power transmitters with low weight wheels that provide minimal friction and maximum centering of the boot heel, allowing easy return to centre if knocked out of line.

SKIING, Vertical and Lateral Adjustable Release Function
Vertical and lateral, individually adjustable release in the heel for improved release functionality.

SKIING, Carbon Reinforced Tow and Heel
Carbon reinforced toe and heel material for improved strength and reduced weight.

CLIMBING, Climbing Aids
The climbing aid offers two positions with 7° and 13° which can easily be accessed with the ski pole, even in an unstable standing position. Integrated elastomer paddings dampen the impact reducing the irritating traditional 'clack' and allow more comfortable hiking.

CLIMBING, Crampon
Easy to install crampons for in the sizes 90mm, 105mm, 120mm.
