Black Diamond made the Beta Light 45 Backpack for ultralight adventurers. It combines a running vest-style carry system, a streamlined modular feature set, and performance fabrics. With a 45-litre capacity, it's ideal for extended day hikes and overnighters with a fast and light focus.

Features

Durable construction

Made from Challenge Sailcloth's Ultra material, it's UV, abrasion, and water-resistant and has an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio. Fully taped seams further enhance durability and weatherproof performance.

Removable features

On weight-critical missions, you can strip the pack down to 521 grams by removing the framesheet, frame stays, hip belt, and compression straps.

Harness pockets

The left strap includes a zipped phone and a small stash pocket. The right strap has a large stretch pocket that can fit a 500ml soft flask.

Hydration bladder compatible

The internal mesh sleeve can hold a hydration bladder; there's a hole in the middle to route the hose through.

Front stash pocket

Use the Power Mesh front pocket to stash gear you want to be able to retrieve quickly – like a map or waterproof jacket. There's a buckle at the top to help keep items secure.

Compression straps

There are four removable Dynex compression straps. Use to reduce bulk and stabilise the load. The two base straps will keep a foam roll mat secure.
