Shell
Carbon Loaded PA Memory Fit shell, mouldable. The advanced heat fitting technology of Memory Fit creates a fully personalised shell and cuff in minutes. The key is Memolink, a special additive that improves the mouldability and stretch characteristics of the plastic. The boot shell is heated in an oven, then the skier's foot is placed inside the complete boot whilst it cools. With the foot's natural standing pressure, the forefoot of the boot can expand up to 3mm per side and the ankle area up to 5mm per side.

The new sturdier Free/Lock 4.5 is Atomic's most robust ski/walk mechanism. Flick from ski to walk mode with one simple switch. In walk mode they offer an epic cuff movement. In the ski setting you can choose 13/15/17 degrees via the adjustable forward lean settings.

Hybrid Overlap combines open-throat and semi-overlap shell constructions to improve foot entry and wrapping. While typical touring shells with open-throat construction allow easy entry and exit, they often lack toe support. Conversely, regular overlap shells wrap the foot securely but make stepping in/out harder. The Hybrid Overlap provides a balanced solution.
Cross Lace 2.5
A powerful Z-cable closure system specifically designed for the Hybrid Overlap of Backland XTD. This closure system securely wraps the complete foot to create a phenomenal fit with unparalleled foot and ankle hold. A supremely uniform fit is achieved by lacing the adjustment system through the lower buckle, allowing for improved support, easier on and off, personalized settings, and a better overall fit.
