5 campsites with wild swimming
This article was written in collaboration with one of our athletes, Laura Jones, an experienced runner and adventurer who loves getting outside with her young daughter.
"We have loved camping with our daughter from a young age, around 8 months old. We believe it’s been such a success because we’ve done it with her since she was little, making the tent fun and familiar to her.
I know from experience that getting out camping with your little one can be a daunting idea, but with the right setup and mindset, it can be so much fun." - Laura Jones
Here are some pieces of advice from Laura on how to have a successful camping trip with a baby.

Embrace adaptability
Be prepared to adjust your plans as needed; flexibility is key when camping with little ones. We once cut the second day of a wild camp short when the weather deteriorated overnight. We knew it wouldn’t be fun to carry on on day 2, so we headed down instead.

Use white noise
Download a white noise app on your phone or, if you have an iPhone, use the white noise feature under accessibility to help soothe your baby to sleep. This really worked wonders for us because it was something that was familiar to home.

Take it easy on yourself
Don’t put too much pressure on making this camping trip perfect. Everything going exactly to plan is rare for any camping trip let alone your first one with a baby. Camping is a time to get away, immerse yourself in nature and enjoy time with loved ones. Plus, if things go completely off track you can always pack up and head home – there’s always next time.
