  • Tara O'Rourke - Manager

    Travel Expert

    Store: STRATFORD

Travel expert Tara hails from North Vancouver, so being based in London already gives her a head-start when it comes to travel expertise. As a child, her family would take her on road trips across the USA, and when she finished college, she embarked upon a backpacking trip across Western Europe with her sister.

With a deeply-rooted thirst for adventure, Tara then undertook a lone trip backpacking across the Middle East. Encompassing Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Israel and Egypt, she witnessed every aspect of the region - both the good points and bad - but considers Syria one her favourite places to visit. "The people were just amazing and some of the most friendly I've ever met."

Since then, she has lived in Ireland, toured Europe and spent time as a resident in Dallas, Texas - a place she would use as a base to roadtrip the American Mid West and Canada. Never one to keep still, she has also toured South America, ranking Southern Bolivia as one the most beautiful in the world, and recently joined the Haglofs Arctic Weekend in Sweden... it's safe to say Tara doesn't leave many stones unturned!

Tara's next adventure will be 18 days spent visiting Vietnam this summer.

  • Dean Miller

    Trekking Expert

    Store: STRATFORD

Dean first visited the mountains when he went on a school outing to an activity centre in Snowdon, which inspired him to plan a trip to scale all of Snowdon’s 14 peaks shortly after his exams. He then went on to join the mountain club at Univeristy, which took him on frequent expeditions across the Scottish highlands.

Starting out with hill walks, Dean is now an experienced Munro bagger and enjoys solo bothying weekends, grade 2-3 scrambling and winter climbing, so if you need advice about where to go and what to take with you for a trekking trip in the UK, come in and talk to Dean.

    Favourite Place/Resort:

Glen Coe, Scotland. “Glen Coe is great because not only is it beautiful, there are so many options, depending on what you want to do you can plan walking, climbing, scrambling and mountaineering routes all within a fairly small radius.”

  • Vojtech Dolba

    Skiing Expert

    Store: STRATFORD

Skiing is in Vojtech's blood. Both his mum and dad were professional skiers and he has been on the slopes since he was three. Since then he has skied at every opportunity, mainly in the Czech Republic, Slovakia or Austria.

Vojtech now has over 100 weeks of on-slope experience under his belt and has completed three seasons as a qualified ski technician at Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports. Highly experienced in cross country skiing and on/off piste, Vojtech is most likely to be found on the slope early in the morning enjoying the fresh, smooth, empty and newly laid snow.

    Favourite Place/Resort:

Ski Jasná Tatry mountains, Slovakia. "It's where I spent my childhood learning to ski and developing my love for the sport. I think it is the biggest and best resort in Slovakia and recently it has improved enormously to rival the slopes in the Alps."
