Smartwool Socks & Base Layers
THE SMARTWOOL COMMUNITY
The Smartwool community is a collection of people who believe that time outside is valuable, restorative, and essential for everyone.
They started making socks in 1994 because they wanted to be able to ski longer without getting cold toes. It was at this time they realised the performance benefits of Merino wool: soft, moisture-wicking, thermoregulating, sustainable and odour-neutralising.
As the first outdoor company to make performance Merino wool ski socks, Smartwool revolutionised the category and forever changed the way outdoor enthusiasts viewed their feet. Through the years the brand has been built on the desire to be comfortable during outdoor adventures so they, and their customers, could go farther and experience more.
It is this drive that continues to fuel everything they do. From their Merino wool supply chain to the Smartwool advocacy program, to how their socks and apparel are designed, they exist to help us all play, live, and laugh in the great outdoors.Images: @Fisher_Creative
4-Degree™ Elite Fit
The iconic x-patterned 4 Degree™ elite fit is one of Smartwool's key sock innovations. It unites all activity-specific PhD® socks from cycle to mountaineer and beyond. It offers a secure fit to reduce blisters and prevent sock-slippage but also ensures excellent comfort so you can keep on going freely and ferociously.
Smartwool source their Merino wool from places like New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and South America. Accredited farms are audited to ensure that they meet the high standards that Smartwool require.
Smartwool also partner with the New Zealand Merino Company which developed ZQ wool to ensure environmental, social, and economic sustainability while safeguarding animal welfare to bring you ethically sourced wool.
