I'm Luke and I'm an RP1 athlete competing for GB Climbing. I have Cerebral Palsy down my right-hand side and day to day, I use a wheelchair to get around.
I first got into climbing almost as a bit of a joke, I remember seeing a poster in uni at a freshers fair of somebody climbing, I thought it would be funny if a wheelchair user was to go rock climbing. So me and a good friend of mine booked ourselves on a course. The second I completed the climb I was absolutely addicted, I managed to find a sport that was both challenging and extremely fun.
My day job is in cyber security but I'm now competing around the world every year, Salt Lake City, USA, Innsbruck Austria to name a few. I love the climbing community and all the friends that I have made along the way.
I made the IFSC world cup finals in my first season on the team back in Villars and my new goal is to make it all the way to LA 2028 Paralympic games for the sports debut! |
