Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
Totally happy playing in the bumps, carving speedy long-radius turns, or jumping into the soft snow. A forgiving flex in the nose and some rocker in the snow make them fun in softer or choppier snow. Truly versatile and a real one-ski quiver option.

Skier Type
This skier loves to play all over the hill, and while they'rve got good technique, having fun is the primary goal. They'll dive into the off-piste and happily tackle bumps and value a bit of stability from a slightly wider ski, they are also happy blasting around at speed on-piste too.

Overview

Shape
The Mindbender 96C features a medium-wide 96mm waist, along with a wide shovel and tip rocker, to offer outstanding floatation in soft snow and stability on challenging terrain. Its relatively wide tail and tail rocker also contributes to a lively, responsive feel making it great for quick turns on hard snow that realease easily at the end of a carve too.

Rocker
All-Terrain Rocker is a gradual, extended rise at the tip and tail for added versatility and control in all conditions. Camber underfoot ensures good grip things are firmer.

Core
Aspen Veneer. A single wood species ensures consistency - giving riders the advantage of a proven flex, durability, and liveliness.

Construction
SlantWall and Hybritech: These cutting-edge advancements in K2's ski construction involve adding a 30-degree angle to the sidewall and seamlessly blending sidewall construction underfoot with cap construction at the extremities. The result is a ski that excels in agility, responsiveness, precision, and power while also reducing swing weight and increasing durability.

Key Features

Torsion Control Design
Designed to enhance stability and control in all snow types, Torsion Control Design combines a progressive torsional flex with a balanced and even longitudinal profile. Torsionally stiffest in the forebody and centre of the ski, then relaxing throughout the tail, K2 skis with TCD are characterized by precise, accurate turn initiation and smooth, consistent turn release.

Spectral Braid
Another implementation of K2’s Torsion Control Design, patented Spectral Braid is a first-of-its-kind variable angle fibre reinforcement that allows for precision-tuned torsion and flex by altering the fibre orientation along the length of the ski. Lively, energetic, and composed, skis with K2’s Spectral Braid have stability and control in spades while remaining extremely manoeuvrable.

Uni Directional Flax
Strands of Flax (a strong, natural fibre that excels when used to control vibrations) are added in a single direction, this keeps the weight down and dampens the ride to add composure to the ski allowing it to track more predictably in varied terrain.

EB tester’s comments: Mark (Braehead) These were a LOT better than expected on the hard pack at high speed! Really inspiring to charge. Good choice for someone looking for a great all-round ski, to cruise some pow and charge some.
