The new version of the Cochise is both stronger and lighter, an impressive upgrade on what was already a class leading offering for skiers who demand the best downhill performance plus comfort and ease for ascending. The most noticeable change is the T-Ride hike system that increases the range of motion as well as improving the strength and power transfer. C.A.S. is still present on the shell and liner, as well as the tongue now, meaning customisation is simple and very effective to achieve a truly personalised fit.
Ability Level
Overview
Fit
Good heel hold, medium mid-foot and comfy toe box.
Shell
PU shell with PP cuff and Carbon Co-injected Back Spine, mouldable. PU on the shell provides the strength and the Asymmetric Power Transmission uses thicker plastic on the medial/inside part of the boot ensuring more lateral power transfer and increased edge grip. The PP on the cuff helps to keep the weight down.
Liner
Performance C.A.S, mouldable, with Floating Tongue, Celliant and fibreglass collar. The Cochise C.A.S. liners are light, anatomically shaped for optimal comfort and great heel hold. The dual density micro-cells material is durable and easy to customize. For unmatched personal customisation, the C.A.S. liner can be thermo-moulded, punched and grinded. The new folding structure on the back ensures easy hiking. Celliant transforms your body's heat into full-spectrum infrared energy, promoting local circulation and cell oxygenation while keeping you drier and at the perfect temperature.
Key Features
T-Ride
The T-Ride system is fully integrated into the boot design. It's a solid cuff-to-shell connection which delivers the perfect combination between downhill performance and uphill hiking ability. The design makes it easy and intuitive, you will always be sure whether is on ski or hiking mode. The integrated lock system screw ensures that the mechanism stays closed even during hard cliff landings or impact with rocks. 50 degrees range of motion allows a comfortable hike up to the summit when in walk mode; the T-Ride longer lever arm guarantees a quicker edge to edge transition, increased lateral power and stability.
C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shell)
The C.A.S. Fit System gives the ability to customise the ski boot for a truly personal fit. The anatomical shape of the liner and shell are the key to a great out-of-the-box fit. The closer the liner and shell match he natural shape of the foot, the better the fit and performance will be. The C.A.S. shell has dimples on the shell that reduce surface tension and facilitate the thermo customisation process. The dual density micro-cells material of the C.A.S. liner is durable and easy to customize, and for unmatched personal customisation the. liner can be thermo-moulded, punched and grinded. The C.A.S. Tongue is a great addition to the C.A.S. customisation system, it can be thermoformed in a few minutes to perfectly match the shape of your shin, reducing shin pain and increasing performance.
Quick Instep
The instep material is softer, making stepping in and out easy and avoiding unnecessary pain, especially at low temperatures.
Asymmetric Power Transmission
The inside of the boot is made with thicker plastic to increase support where needed. This provides more lateral power transmission and increased edge grip.
Free Move
The new hinge point allows frictionless hiking, so you can hike more with less energy.
Arch Grip
Toe and heel Vibram® rubbered soles are connected by the rubber Arch Grip that delivers more versatility in the daily usage. It supplies more grip on mountain terrain, on metal ladders, on snowmobiles, and so on.
