It could have been risky when Salomon replaced a best-selling range of boots but with the S/PRO 80 W they nailed it perfectly. The 100mm last size is medium volume on paper but does feel roomy in a positive way, the heel hold is good and the toe box is nice and spacious. The shell uses a thinned down PU plastic to reduce weight and a fibreglass Coreframe ensures strength; the lightweight seamless liner has the fit personalised through moulding. Sense Amplifier on the cuff improves precision and rebound.
