The unique structure of Pertex® Equilibrium created a comfortable microclimate by balancing weather protection and breathability. Pertex® Equilibrium uses a double weave construction in which a tightly woven outer face provides protection from the elements whilst a more openly woven inner face helps to move moisture away from your body.

Pertex® Shield (formerly Pertex Sheild & Pertex Shield +)

Pertex® Shield fabrics provide lightweight waterproof protection whilst remaining highly breathable. Designed for intense mountain pursuits where weight and breathability are key, Pertex® Shield fabrics allow you to move fast and stay comfortable. The versatile 2, 2.5 and 3-layer constructions combine lightweight face fabrics with waterproof, windproof and breathable membranes. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish applied to the face fabric sheds rain and snow, which helps to maintain breathability.

Pertex® Quantum  (formerly Pertex Classic, Mircolight, Quantum and Quantum GL)

Pertex® Quantum uses a tightly woven structure to provide a light and soft fabric that allows insulation to fully loft. Precisely constructed from incredibly fine yarns, Pertex® Quantum fabrics are designed to trap still air and improve the efficiency of insulation. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish sheds light rain and snow to provide additional weather protection.

Pertex® Quantum Pro (formerly Pertex Endurance)

Pertex® Quantum Pro uses an ultra-thin water resistant coating to provide increased weather resistance for extreme conditions. By combining a tightly woven face fabric with a microporous coating, Pertex® Quantum Pro delivers a very high level of water resistance whilst remaining lightweight, soft and breathable. The increased weather resistance and durable construction means these fabrics are ideal for use in cold or damp environments where keeping warm and dry is crucial.

Pertex® Quantum Air (formerly Pertex Mircolight)

Pertex® Quantum Air is engineered with increased air permeability to provide a balance between wind resistance and breathability. The more openly woven structure of Quantum Air fabrics allows airflow through the fabric, which helps to regulate your body heat and keep you comfortable for longer. This balance of air permeability and wind resistance means Pertex® Quantum Air fabrics are perfectly suited to intense mountain pursuits. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish sheds light rain and snow to provide additional weather protection.

PFC-Free

Per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are a family of human-made, fluorine-containing chemicals. They have long been used to add water and stain repellent properties to technical fabrics. PFCs can harm the wearer of the garment and damage nature. Incredibly resistant to breakdown, these pollutants have been found across the globe; they can remain in the environment for many years after release. In response, a growing number of PFC-Free products are being developed, designed to provide reliable water repellency without the use of these harmful chemicals.

Recycled

Patagonia first made a fleece from recycled plastic bottles in 1993, since then more and more brands have been ‘recycling rubbish’ to make the high-performance clothing and equipment that we all love to rely on in the outdoors. There are now many different types of materials and products made from waste that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
