The NORTH is a freeride cruiser that has all the performance to step up to even the gnarliest terrain. Great for all types of riding, from cruising with friends to playing about over the whole mountain but it's when you take one to the backcountry that this board comes alive.
When things get deeper, steeper and more full on the North truly does step up to the plate. Built around Whitegold's advanced fully directional VERYLIGHT CORE which combines poplar wood with lightweight Paulowina and vibration dampening cork inserts this is one board that doesn't compromise performance and durability to save weight. Add to this a Bamboo stringer running through the centre of the board for added pop through the length and you have all the ingredients for true high end performance.
The North's advanced core profiling produces a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them, match this with the TRI-AX glass structural layers and you have a torsionally responsive board that delivers unrivalled high speed stability with a smooth and progressive feel. But it doesn't stop there, Whitegold add two straight carbon stringers running the full length of the contact edges, joining the board's widest points. These increase stiffness along the length stepping up the performance to satisfy even the most demanding rider. The North's big mountain credentials are further enhanced with the FREERIDE TBT.
This directionally optimized version of triple base offsets the flat sections in line with the stance set back whilst increasing the length and angle of the TBT upturns to create a super floaty ride that enhances the boards carving credentials. At the rear the TBT is shorter and shallower which produces a 'gas pedal' effect, where the board powers through and accelerates out of turns! One of the most exciting aspects of the North's unique construction is that it has been designed from day one to be easy to split. There's nothing new in splitting a board, but when you split the bamboo strip in the centre of the board, the near perfect alignment of bamboo fibres along the length of the board ensures that the newly revealed sidewalls remain impervious to water without needing further treatment! This means you can split your board as soon as you get it or ride it as normal for some time and then split it! This offers the best of both worlds for anyone interested in trying a split board without wanting to take the hit on a ready prepared one or wanting to D.I.Y. it!
