Great walking jacket but hood disappointsod
I bought the Diamir three weeks ago to replace my much-loved, well worn 9-year-old Mountain Hardwear shell. The jacket is as described and is what I was after: a tough, dependable waterproof jacket suitable for long days in the hills/mountains. So far I've used it in the Dales and in more urban contexts, and it has done the job and kept me dry. Great colour, strong zips - incl pit zips, good pocket selection and a pretty good fit. I have a size 8 and at 5ft2 the sleeves are a bit long, but it's not a problem as the velcro cuffs work well. I'm generally very pleased with the jacket; my only gripe is with the hood, which simply isn't adjustable enough to fit my head. There isn't adequate adjustment at jaw/upper neck level, which means that it gapes around my face and even when I have tightened the hood at the back, even light winds blow the hood straight off. This is a frustrating point on what otherwise seems so far to be an excellent product.
