Bought my first pair of these at EB Fort William. They fitted beautifully and I reckon I have worn them at least 1,000 times. I have worn the soles smooth and they been demoted from Munros to gardening duties but they still feel like slippers. Constructive comment? The soles were thinner than I was used to and early on I was aware of stones through the soles but the trade off for superlight boots was still a good one; and the cloth lace 'holes' can be fiddly when replacing laces. Otherwise just perfect. Onto my second pair now.
These boots are brilliant. Comfortable to walk on uneven surface, rocks, etc. Totally waterproof. I wore this shoes on my 9-day hiking trip to Kamchatka. 12 km per day. Didn't let me down even once.
This is my 3rd pair of Meindls and they remain a terrific producer of hiking boots. Great balance of performance and weight along with excellent fit for first wearing. I used these for long weekend in Knoydart in we conditions over mixed terrain with no issue at all. Highly recommended. Would have given 5 stars but I know that fit is very personal thing so may not be for you.
