    Jones Men's Ultra Mountain Twin 2017 / 2018 Snowboard

It's safe to say that if you're riding a board that combines great performance with the ability to ride absolutely every type of terrain on the mountain, then the odds are that you've got a Jones's Mountain Twin strapped to your feet. However, as good as the Mountain Twin is, if you're one of those riders that wants to take their riding to the highest level, who wants to go faster and who wants to go bigger, then there's a pretty good chance you're looking for a bit more than the Mountain Twin can offer. Well, step forward the Ultra Mountain Twin.

Sharing the same innovative versatile twin shape, all-terrain friendly CamRock profile and mellow Magne-Traction as the original board, the Ultra Mountain Twin retains that ride anything and everything versatility that made the standard Mountain Twin such a huge hit. But, take a quick glance at the construction of the Ultra and it's not hard to see how Jones have transformed the performance of this board, creating what is truly a very special snowboard.

Heading up its high-end build is the powerful Power Core. This complex wood core, as used in the Flagship, combines multi density poplar, lightweight paulownia and poppy bamboo to deliver a powerful flex through the length. This is then wrapped with structural layers formed from high-quality Tri-Ax glass which has been reinforced with carbon stringers. This steps up torsional resistance, ensuring that the Ultra Mountain Twin has all the power, control and stability that you could ever need. For 2018, Jones have read profiled the core, stepping up that torsional flex another notch, ensuring that this is one board that will never feel wanting no matter how hard you push it

Finally, as this board is all about taking it to the max, Jones utilise a superfast sintered 9900 base. This is one of the fastest and toughest bases there is, making it the perfect choice for this totally stunning board.

    Ultra Mountain Twin

So I was looking for something to suit my riding style - mainly freeride, carving, reverts, park kickers and jibbing around. I’m no Jeremy Jones but do have some snowboarding credentials - Level 2 instructor. Owning a capita DOA already I opted for the 157 UMT. It seemed heavier than all my other boards, I could see the profile clearly and the magna traction that it boasted. I paired it with burton cartel bindings and I was jaw dropped amazed just how keen this beast wanted to and held an edge. I put it through it’s paces with euro and reverts and perfected my lay down reverts with more confidence. This edge traction also added to control when blasting some 1’s and 3’s of lips and side hits. The 9900 sintered base did its thing too and exploded into life on landing! Flatland stuff was ok, although you have to load it in all the right places. It’s sits in the medium/stiff range of beasts but then it should it’s not a park noodle. Graphics - top sheet, meh! But I was never buying a board because it looked pretty I wanted performance, bottom sheet, it’s got the distinctive Jones and logo die cut graphics! I’d say this thing is a beast that needs taming but it’s a beast that is there for you when you need it. It’ll take you on a ride of your life, sprinkled with some epic whilst making your jaw drop open and turn into the biggest of smiles. It’ll give you the tools to attack the best of black runs whilst also make cruisy blues into a playground from another dimension.
