Over the years the Jones Mountain Twin has firmly established itself as the best selling board in the Jones range. Its combination of all-terrain versatility and a more forgiving freestyle feel has made it a favourite of those riders that want ride anything performance but also want a more freestyle friendly feel.
But, what if you like that versatility but want to go faster, want to go bigger and want to ride harder? Step forward the Ultra Mountain Twin.
Sharing the same directional twin chassis and versatile camber rocker profile as the standard board, the Ultra series ups the construction several notches to deliver a powerful and responsive all-terrain board that changes the game for experienced riders.
The first and most obvious difference between the standard Mountain Twin and the Ultra is the high-end power core. This combines triple density poplar, paulownia and powerful bamboo to create a really responsive foundation that delivers all the pop you could ever need and a pretty major jump in performance from the standard board's poplar core.
Next up is structural layers, on the standard board these are formed from Tri-Ax glass, however on the Ultra, these are further reinforced with carbon stringers running tip to tail and add even more pop and power through the length.
Finally, add the new ash veneer top sheet and a super fast 9900 grade sintered base and it's pretty obvious why this is such a totally awesome board and why it managed to bag a 2016 Transworld Good wood award.
