The Socialite is aimed at riders who are looking for a board that will allow them to take on all types of terrain but who still prefer that more forgiving freestyle inspired feel. By utilising state-of-the-art design and construction, Burton has managed to deliver a playful ride without compromising any of the boards performance, ensuring that even though it's not aggressive, it's still got the response and control to satisfy even the most demanding rider.
Built around a balanced twin tip shape it utilises the versatile Flat-Top camber profile. This combination of flat under the feet with rocker zones at the contact points gives the Socialite a more playful feel as well as increasing float in the nose; but because you've still got that extra bit of power between the feet, it doesn't compromise the overall performance of the board, making it both playful and responsive all at the same time.
One of the key components that gives the Socialite its unique flex is its advanced SuperFly core with Off Axis Squeezebox Low profiling. This full-length wood core is profiled along its length to deliver the ideal riding characteristics. This profiling is then offset so that it sits in alignment with the rider's feet, ensuring that all the control is placed where it's needed most. The core thickness is then further reduced under the feet (again in alignment with the foot angles) and replaced with soft dampening pads. It's this profiling that gives the Socialite its softer more playful flex.
To ensure that the Socialite doesn't just ride like a noodle, Burton create the structural layers from torsionally stiffer Tri-Ax glass. This gives the board its responsive ride and steps its overall performance up a notch. Finally, the high-end sintered base gives superb glide in all conditions and finishes off this great performing easy-going snowboard.
