When Bataleon first introduced the FunKink it very quickly established itself as one of the most fun to ride boards in their line. Its ability to combine great all-terrain performance with a playful freestyle feel guaranteed that no matter where or what you rode, you couldn't help but have a great time. Now over the years Bataleon have always ensured that the FunKink has stayed ahead of the game when it comes to design and technology, but thankfully, in all that time they never lost sight of what the FunKink should be about, FUN.
Well, for 2017/18 Bataleon have yet again re-engineered the FunKink. Utilising all new construction and third-generation TBT, they've stepped up the performance to a whole new level and in doing so have created one of the best performing boards in its price sector. And once again, they've done it without sacrificing that all important fun factor.
Built around what is best described as a slightly directional twin shape, it delivers a balanced ride ensuring that whether you're hitting the park or lapping groomers, it's always going to feel at home. But, it's the addition of that stunning third-generation TBT that really takes the FunKink into the realms of something special. By integrating their innovative new Side Kick technology into the versatile Freestyle TBT, Bataleon have unleashed a whole new level of performance into the board. Turns are engaged faster, stability is stepped up, in fact the whole riding experience is transformed. But it's not just the shape that makes the new FunKink special, it's also the construction. Central to this is the high-end Reactor bamboo core. This places bamboo stringers either side of the poplar wood core increasing both pop through the length and torsional stiffness at the edges. Add to this the softer Bi-Ax glass structural layers, which give the FunKink its playful nature and the low maintenance extruded base and it's easy to see why the FunKink has the tools to blow your socks off.
