Our Top All Terrain Freestyle Skis For 2019

Designed to turn the whole mountain into a giant playground these skis look and feel like a freestyle ski with the bonus of on and off-piste performance. So if you enjoy powder, side hits and laps through the park here are our winners and runners-up for All Terrain Freestyle skis.

Men’s

Faction

CT 2.0

Faction CT 2.0

  • Radius: 16m
  • Waist: 102mm
  • Rocker: Tip/Tail
  • Demo: Available

A returning winner and it’s very easy to understand why, with its mix of freestyle ability with freeride performance. It’s as happy hitting jumps all day as it is lapping powder runs. Light, stable and responsive, it ticked the boxes of our freestyle testers and our more directional, freeride skiers.

The ultimate all mountain freestyle ski design. The lively poplar/beech core adds boost off kickers and will have you grinning in soft snow. A carbon reinforcement laminate ensures torsional stiffness to aid grip on steep or hard snow. The symmetrical sidecut and centre mounting position put you in the best place on the ski for spinning, rails or stomping switch tricks.

Tester’s comment

Benj (Castleford) "It was always going to be good in the park and playing in soft snow, but its ability to charge on hard pack really surprised me. A great choice for decent all mountain rippers."

Armada

ARV 96

Armada ARV 96

  • Radius: 19m
  • Waist: 96mm
  • Rocker: Tip/ Tail
  • Demo: Available

The ARV 96 combines the best elements of a freestyle ski; light nimble handling with the power and control of a freeride model. AR Freestyle Rocker uses rocker at the tip and tail with positive camber underfoot, allowing you to charge with ease through unpredictable snow and hold a carve on firm conditions. The Pop-Lite Core mixes light and denser woods in horizontal laminates to create a lively ski that has all the power needed.

Tester’s comment

Mark (Trainer) "Effortlessly fuses smooth park and burly all mountain handling. It’s great at lazy skiing at speed and comfortably jumps from piste to off piste."

K2

MissConduct

K2 MissConduct

  • Radius: 14.5m
  • Waist: 88mm
  • Rocker: Tip/ Tail
  • Demo: Available

This ski has pretty much guaranteed itself a place in skiing folklore as the most fun, most versatile freestyle ski. It manages to mix up a bit of everything including pop, response and versatility, in a way that it excels across numerous categories from piste to park to powder. The original 1-ski solution.

The MissConduct is an all terrain twin for skiers who want to go everywhere and don’t care about the rules. Ski the groomers, shred the trees, hit some jumps, it doesn’t matter – just have fun. 85mm underfoot with a medium radius and tip and tail rocker ensures that it is comfortable in any condition. An aspen wood core provides strength and longevity without adding excess weight; TwinTech sidewalls deliver precision and increase durability.

Tester’s comment

Florrie (Covent Garden) "A fun and flexible ski, aiding you to muck around of the sides of the slopes (or park). I found it really helped to build my confidence."

Roxy

Shima Freestyle

Roxy Shima Freestyle

  • Radius: 16m
  • Waist: 85mm
  • Rocker: Tip/Tail
  • Demo: Available

This makes a great choice for a first freestyle ski, a fun all mountain option or a better yet, a combination of the two. A tough capped construction protects against damage; thick edges increase durability. Park rocker uses camber underfoot for grip and liveliness with rocker at the tip and tail to improve manoeuvrability and butters. The 16m radius and 85mm waist are ideal for the park, adding stability whilst remaining nimble, key features for the rest of the mountain too.

Tester’s comment

Mikaela (Chelmsford) "Lightweight and easy-riding, cruisy effortless turns. Perfect to start building some freestyle skills or for anyone wanting a forgiving and simple to use all mountain ski."
