Armada’s ARW 86 came out on top in this year’s ski test for women’s All Terrain Freestyle skis. Confirmation of just how good this ski is backed up by Fall-Line Magazine naming it their Freestyle ski of 2017 / 2018.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers, the ski delivers a stable and smooth experience on the piste yet remains playful and lively in the park.
Camber under the bindings and rocker at the tip and tail allows the ski to produce solid grip and edge hold while maintaining excellent handling in crud and deeper snow. Complementing this AR rocker profile is (impact resistant) full sidewalls underfoot and cap construction at either end of the ski for a low-swing weight and controlled spins.
The core is a mixture of lightweight (poplar) wood with harder (beech) wood horizontal laminates that add pop on kickers and a spring in turns.
Again, this ski is a great all-rounder that keeps things fun and fresh on the hill whatever part you are hitting up.

With bold graphics, a playful nature and excellent all mountain handling it is easy to understand why the Roxy Ily was our women’s runner-up.
Aimed at intermediate to advanced skiers, this twin tip ski has a soft to medium flex that makes it very forgiving and lots of fun when jibbing. In the park, the lightweight poplar and beech core keep it nice and agile with a symmetrical sidecut making it just as easy to ride switch.
Simple to control and enough performance out of the park to make it a brilliant ski at a reasonable price point.

The 'go-anywhere' ski of the CT (Candide Thevoux) series is the Candide 2.0. It is stable and poppy in the park while remaining grippy and agile on the piste.
Powering it through mixed terrain is a poplar and beech core and carbon reinforcement under the binding. With a 102mm waist and rocker tip and tail, the ski also handles well in deep snow or crud.
The tight radius, full-length sidewall and symmetrical sidecut make for snappy fun turns - whether riding regular or switch. Add in a medium flex and weight, and you have got one of the best skis around.

An aggressive ski aimed at advanced to expert skiers, the original ARV was launched in 2002 with the remit to take park tricks, fun and a charge-everything riding style to the whole mountain. This year’s model retains that ethos with updated materials and construction to match today’s high-performance levels.
The ARV is built around a Pop Light wood core (with carbon / Kevlar stringers) in a camber under foot and rocker at the tip and tail profile. This delivers plenty of energy, grip and power while still giving easy turn initiation and exit in choppy terrain.
