If you’re keen to get some airtime, then Freestyle skiing is for you. The skiing is creative, whether at an indoor dome park, hitting up urban features or searching out natural hits and lines.

As well as throwing spins and flips off jumps, you can satisfy the speed demon inside by racing down a course full of banked turns, bumps and jumps! So if you enjoy side hits and laps through the park, here are our winners and runners-up for our 'best in class' Freestyle skis.

WOMEN’S WINNER

K2 MissConductK2 MissConduct

The MissConduct is an all-terrain twin for skiers who want to go everywhere and don’t care about the rules. Ski the groomers, shred the trees, hit some jumps, it doesn’t matter – just have fun. 85mm underfoot with a medium radius and tip and tail rocker ensures that it is comfortable in any condition. An aspen woodcore provides strength and longevity without adding excess weight; TwinTech sidewalls deliver precision and increase durability.

Tester's Comments: Florrie (Covent Garden) A fun and flexible ski, aiding you to muck around on the sides of the slopes (or park). I found it really helped to build my confidence.

This makes a great choice for a first freestyle ski, a fun all mountain option or better yet, a combination of the two. A tough capped construction protects against damage; thick edges increase durability. Park Rocker uses rocker at the tip and tail to improve manoeuvrability and butters with camber underfoot for grip and liveliness. The 16m radius and 85mm waist are ideal for the park, adding stability whilst remaining nimble, key features for the rest of the mountain too.

Tester's Comments: Cat (Castleford) The forgiving flex makes skiing so simple an what makes it so fun too. Playful, poppy and so easy to use. The perfect confidence building ski.

MEN’S WINNER

Faction CT 2.0

Faction CT 2.0

The ultimate all mountain freestyle ski design. The lively poplar/beech core adds boost off kickers and will have you grinning in soft snow. A carbon reinforcement laminate ensures torsional stiffness to aid grip on steep or hard snow. The symmetrical sidecut and centre mounting position put you in the best place on the ski for spinning, rails or stomping switch tricks.

Tester's Comments: Benj (Castleford) It was always going to be good in the park and playing in soft snow but its ability to charge on hard pack really surprised me. A great choice for decent all mountain rippers.

MEN’S RUNNER UP

Volkl Revolt 95

Volkl Revolt 95

Though designed with jibbing in mind, Ahmet Dadali didn’t ignore versatility when he was dreaming this ski up. A non-symmetrical twin may buck the trend of most park models, but it makes total sense as riding switch requires a different technique to going forwards. Specific tip and tail butter zones add extra style to tricks; a 95mm waist means you can easily spend the day doing powder runs when it’s dumping. Carbon stringers boost pop; the Multi-Layer Woodcore increases strength.

Tester's Comments: Dani (Aviemore) Very versatile with nice flex points in the tip and tail for buttering. It’s one of the most complete freestyle skis that provides full-on all-terrain performance.
