The European Outdoor Film Tour
Whilst not strictly 'one' film this was a cracking event showcasing an amazing collection of 9 films covering everything from scary wingsuit flying to cutting edge Himalayan climbing. Though it might not be the most obvious choice, perhaps the most inspiring film of all was 'The Crossing' which told the tale of two easy-going Aussies making very hard going of traversing barren, boggy Victoria Island in Canada.
This is a pretty simple film that focuses on bouldering action - showing Dan Varian, Ned Feehally and plenty of others sending hard problem after hard problem (including plenty of sketchy highballs). It's beautifully shot, fast paced and a must-see for any boulderer.
The second team movie from YES. snowboards documents the ever growing crew killing it in some of the best powder laden backcountry terrain on the planet. If you love backcountry freestyle then this movie will be right up your street. Standout sections includes Tadashi and DCP ripping it in Japan and a Trevor Andrews green screen skit at the end shows the guys still have a good sense of humour.
Dinosaurs Will Die Team Video is the DWD’s teams first foray into a full feature and showcases some of the most insane and progressive urban snowboarding ever caught on film. YoBeat gave the film two accolades including “Rider of the Year” and “Video of the Year” which is pretty impressive for a first release.
