As with most of our ski athletes Millie started skiing young, at the tender age 4 on a family ski trip to Breckenridge USA and after just a few days of instruction from her dad (who is a ski coach) she was rocking the slopes all on her own and loving it. She had caught the bug and went on to join her local ski club and started skiing every week and racing in fun races. She said to us, "then one day I saw Katie Summerhayes hitting the kicker and grinding the rails, she skied at the same club. I was hooked on Freestyle for me every since that day".
Since 2011 when she started competing she now enters most of the UK comps and competes in Europe too. 2014 saw her flourish when she was selected for the England Park & Pipe Academy and the England Academy for Moguls (England Team). Improving her performance in the sport is important to her but just as important is having fun riding with her friends. "Being part of the England Team is giving me so many opportunities to ski and train with great coaches and friends. When asking what her ambitions are she said “skiing is a huge part of my life and I really want to carry on to achieve high results whilst keeping a happy balance between school and skiing. I would love to represent my country at the highest level in the sport at the Olympics and X Games".
Whilst completing her GCSEs she decided not to enter too many competitions so she could focus on her studies but she still managed to spend time training in Italy and France as well as weekly at Tamworth SnowDome. Of the competitions she did enter, she placed 1st Overall Female in both rounds of slope style at Salomon Air Attack and placed 3rd overall as part of Team Tamworth in the Championship Ski & Snowboard (CSS) League.
