Socks are perhaps the most important footwear you’ll ever buy for your children.
However good their boots or shoes are, cotton socks absorb sweat and will quickly feel wet next to skin, causing discomfort and an increased risk of blistering: a sure-fire way to ruin even the best day outdoors.
By contrast, socks designed for outdoor adventures such as skiing, snowboarding and hill walking, are made from wicking materials such as merino wool or synthetic fibres. These fabrics draw moisture away from the skin, leaving it feeling dry and comfortable.
Cushioning will be zoned under the heel and ball of the foot to provide shock absorption, while strategic use of thinner mesh zones helps keep feet cooler and anatomical design gives a really great fit.
