The Mindbender 90C is the playful one in the Mindbender line-up, easy to get on with and not demanding to ski, but it will hold an edge and rip out carves when you’re blasting down pistes with friends. 90mm underfoot ticks the box for float in fresh snow without hindering edge-to-edge performance in packed conditions and pistes. The All Terrain Rocker compliments this shape perfectly for smooth control in and out of turns, whatever the conditions.

Terrain Type & Ability Level

Terrain Type
Suited to a variety of terrain, from groomers to fresh snow. The construction, and having no metal, makes it very smooth in chopped snow, bumps and trees. It hasn’t got the grip for the steepest, iciest routes off piste, but it’ll do everything else whilst helping the skier to improve.

Skier Type
All mountain skier who wants versatility; without having to go too wide. There’s no metal in the 90C, making it more playful than powerful. It’s a great choice for either lighter or less aggressive/skilled skiers.

Overview

Shape
A 90mm waist is the sweet spot for this kind of ski; wide enough to float and still feel quick enough edge to edge for groomed slopes to be fun. The radius favours stability but, working with the rocker on the nose, helps with lift and initiation. The shallow rocker on the tail improves control and allows for easy release.

Rocker
All Terrain Rocker skis have a gradual rise to the tip for great versatility in all conditions, with a short, low rise in the tail for added control in variable snow.

Construction
Slantwall adds a 30 degree angle to the sidewall in K2’s Hybritech construction, SlantWall increases a ski's agility and responsiveness while maintaining accuracy and power. Hybritech blends a sidewall construction underfoot with a cap construction in the extremities. The sidewall section gives the ski accuracy, power and edge grip; the capped region reduces the swing weight and increases overall durability.

Key Features

Torsion Control Design
Designed to enhance stability and control in all snow types, Torsion Control Design combines a progressive torsional flex, with a balanced and even longitudinal profile. Torsionally stiffest in the forebody and centre of the ski, then easing throughout the tail, K2 skis with TCD have both precise, accurate turn initiation and smooth, consistent turn release in all snow types.

Carbon Spectral Braid
An extension of K2’s Torsion Control Design, Carbon Spectral Braid is a first of its kind variable angle reinforcement that allows for precision tuned torsion and flex by altering the fibre orientation along the length of the ski. Lively, energetic, and remarkably composed; Mindbender skis with K2’s Carbon Spectral Braid have stability and control in spades while remaining hyper-manoeuvrable.

Carbon Boost Braid
Longitudinal carbon stringers are woven into the patented Triaxial Braid for added pop and rebound.

EB tester’s comments: Steve (Buyer) Impressive, for a non-metal ski it felt surprisingly damp in a positive way. Controlled and easy to use on piste with a good energy that all works well at low to moderate speeds.
