The Head Supershape e-Titan is a ski with the build of a piste performance model but it uses a wider waist and a longer radius, meaning more stability and no loss of grip or energy compared. The addition of EMC, an electronic dampening system, has smoothed the ride and works perfectly with the new shape. It's the ultimate choice for a high-performance ski that will crush pistes and won't even flinch when the snow gets chopped or heavy.
Terrain Type & Ability Level
Terrain Type This e-Rally going to be happy anywhere on the frontside. Reds and blacks are the go-to pistes and the wider shape ensures other terrain is accessible too. Trees, packed-down runs off the sides of pistes and fresh snow stashes are all natural playgrounds for this ski and, if you're lucky enough to be skiing in spring, the Titan will take some beating when it comes to powering through slushy and soft conditions.
Skier Type Good skiers who like a performance ski for moving round the mountain at pace and with grip and precision. Whilst the skiing will often be fast, the beauty of the e-Titan is it's stability, so much so that just cruising and relaxing is an option, even at medium speeds when some other advanced and expert models can be tiring to use.
Shape At 84mm underfoot, the e-Titan is wider than earlier versions, it also lost some mm's from the tip, resulting in the current longer radius. This produces more stability in rougher snow and a smoother ride thanks to the clever EMC technology making the most of the shape. The contact points are set right in the tip and tail so the effective edge is long, helping with the grip and the feel of immediate response when turning.
Rocker ERA 3.0 S on the Supershapes uses a speed rocker which, put simply, means the ski has tip rocker and some smart tip design. There is plenty of camber along the skis length for rebound and energy. A targeted rocker at the tip with low rise, progressive radius and vibration absorbing fibres results in superior steering and less angulation is required for immediate response and a smoother ride.
Core Vertically laminated wood with Graphene and twin Titanal layers. This mix of lightweight but strong materials produces a ski with the most extreme agility and thrilling responsiveness for ultimate performance. Graphene being so light means that thicker and wider Titanal sheets can be used, covering the entirety of the ski to ensure a more reactive and powerful ride. Graphene is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. It is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom. By using it in the construction Head can reduce weight and increase strength of the ski.
Construction Head's Worldcup Sandwich Cap Construction is developed with the most sophistacted materials known to man and uses tried and test techniques. The sidewall delivers energy to ski edge precisely for the best grip; the mini cap on top adds durability. Graphene is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind.
Protector Thanks to its Full Heel Release (FHR), vertical and lateral, the Head’s Protector binding can reduce the risk of injuries for both the knee and the lower leg. The reduced release values in forward and especially in backward twisting falls assure less stress for your knees and safer skiing. Conventional bindings offer only vertical release at the heel. Protector bindings offer Full Heel Release (FHR) - releasing 180 degrees (laterally and vertically). 7mm of bi-lateral movement absorbs all impacts on the binding and avoids pre-releases. The 30 degrees rotation is then only initiated when the loads are too high and the ski boot is released.
EMC Energy Management Circuit, the world's only electronic ski dampening system. When the ski bends and vibrates, it takes the kinetic energy in the ski and transfers it into electrical energy, which is then used to absorb negative vibrations for a more stable experience. Smooth skiing and exceptional edge grip, whatever the conditions.
ERA 3.0 ERA 3.0 is a combination of technologies, shape and geometry using a targeted rocker at the tip with low rise, a progressive radius and vibration absorbing fibres. The rocker improves steering and enhances soft snow versatility. The progressive radius at the tip means that even though there is rocker, less angulation is required to get full edge contact, resulting in better grip. Intellifibers in the tip dampen vibrations for a smoother ride.
EB tester’s comments: Jakob (Aviemore) They turn themselves! I had to put in very little effort to slice through the chop. Turn radius is also small for a ski this width. Big and powerful without feeling overwhelming, easy skiing.
