The Worlds Longest Climb Talk
The World's Longest Climb8-9.30pm, Tuesday 8th September
In this the first of our inspirational Autumn Expert Talks at our Covent Garden store we are excited to have Pauline Sanderson share with us her epic (there are no other words to describe it) expedition!
As the saying goes, count the moments and not the days in life, and with 6 months leave from her work at Glenmore Lodge, Pauline was determined to make every moment count.
In this talk Pauline Sanderson recounts her record-breaking journey that took her from the Dead Sea in Jordan to the highest point on earth – the summit of Mt Everest – a total ascent of 9,269m.
On the 8th September 2015 at Ellis Brigham Covent Garden, Pauline will reveal just what it takes to complete such a journey and will share her experience of travelling through some of the world's most stunning countries and of course the climb itself. The talk involves lots of images, video, anecdotes and laughter about how the Everestmax team successfully went from the lowest place in the world (the Dead Sea in Jordan) to the summit of Everest. They were the first people in the world to complete this journey which took almost six months.
In Your Hands Charity
All money from the ticket sales for the evening will go directly to Pauline's charity, In Your Hands .
Pauline and Jo have been good friends for over 40 years and have set up the charity 'In Your Hands' to help raise funds for the people of Nepal after this year's devastating earthquakes. This is the first year of a five year fund raising programme. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and it could take that long to rebuild many of its communities due to the extent of the earthquake damage.
Pauline will also have signed copies of her book available on the night to buy priced £10 with 50% of the cover price going direct to In Your Hands.
Ticket price of £8 will include complimentary drink.Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports, Tower House, 3-11 Southampton St, London WC2E 7HA
