National Refill Day June 19th
Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports are proud to announce that we will be participating in National Refill Day in association with Refill this June 19th. The event aims to prevent millions of single-use plastic bottles from polluting our streets and oceans by encouraging people to carry a reusable bottle and refill on the go.
To take part in the event, simply carry a reusable bottle, use the Refill App to find your fill for free ‘station’ (there are over 20,000 Refill Stations across the UK), refill your bottle and tap to measure your impact.
You will be able to fill your bottle up with fresh drinking water (for free) from any Ellis Brigham store and as part of our commitment to helping protect the environment, we will continue to be part of the Refill scheme.
Refill is an award-winning campaign designed to help you reduce your plastic pollution, by making it easy to refill your reusable water bottle instead of buying a plastic one.
“Our aim is to have a Refill Station on every high street and through social change, we’re making it the norm to carry a reusable bottle, so you’ll never have to buy a plastic bottle again.”
- We know people are concerned about plastic pollution and they want to do something about it.
- 32% of people feel guilty about buying plastic bottled water.
- 59% of people say they would be more likely to use a reusable water bottle if tap water refills were more freely available in places such as shops, airports and parks!
- 67% of people would be more likely to use a reusable bottle if they knew businesses would be willing to fill it up.
Refill estimate they will have saved over 100 million single-use bottles from entering our waste stream by the end of 2019 - help do your bit and refill on the 19th June.
Why not help spread the cause and share a photo of you refilling with the campaign’s #GotTheBottle hashtag. For more information about the event have a look at Refill’s website.
